International visitors and American residents who do not hold United States citizenship are still required to present a government-issued photo ID to TSA agents at the airport.

A passport issued by a foreign government is an acceptable form of identification for all visitors to the U. Foreign citizens who have a form of photo ID issued by the U. Bring a copy of the report with you to the airport to show both the airport and TSA check-in personnel.

Keep them secure but where you can retrieve them like hidden in emails sent to yourself, or in your photos.

Make sure your phone is password protected. Keep copies of your valid IDs in a safe place at home and to take with you. Keep them hidden securely in your luggage the copy should not be in your wallet in case that gets stolen. Also, use an Anti-Theft Document Organizer to minimize the loss or theft of your valuables while traveling.

As mentioned plan on extra time in screening while using any of the above documents to travel with. Acceptable ID for children For domestic flights within the US, the TSA does not require children anyone aged 17 or younger to have any kind of identification to get past security, even for children traveling alone.

If a child is traveling alone it may be a good idea to have the child carry some kind of ID, even if it is not a passport or state issued photo ID. For international flights to or from the US, all passengers, including infants, must have a passport. Also, a weapons permit is not acceptable, even those that are acceptable forms of ID for voting purposes in some US states. Keep in mind that TSA may be able to use these documents, along with other procedures that they have, in order to confirm your identity and allow you go through security. What if you don't have an acceptable ID?

If you don't have an acceptable ID lost, stolen, etc. The TSA and the airline can work together to verify your identity and get you through airport security.
