Mobilization Creates Better Outcomes, Faster Coalitions are the perfect vehicle for implementing community-level environmental strategies specifically because their implementation requires a wide range of people taking on many tasks. The Alliance convenes over seniors and employees at for-profit, non-profit and government entities throughout the Lehigh Valley to ensure seniors stay healthier and have a better quality of life.
United Way Community Schools Community Schools are a prime example of a community coming together to focus on a common issue—to raise graduation rates in the Lehigh Valley. The model of the Community School consists of a corporate partner, lead agency, community volunteers, educational partners, and programs and services from local non-profits focusing on students in the Lehigh Valley with the greatest need. Collective Impact occurs when organizations from different sectors agree to solve a specific social problem using a common agenda, common measures and mutually reinforcing activities.
This approach also maximizes the dollars that United Way is able to invest. With strong community resources, United Way is able to bring several groups together to focus on one challenge, or hundreds of challenges.
