Check-in date. The majority of the area of fine sand is crammed with umbrellas and beach chairs. In peak season, sun-seekers pack themselves in and there is barely a metre of free space. If you want to grab a nice spot - or indeed any spot - you need to come early. There are more loungers on the neighbouring hotel terrace.
These are a bit more expensive than the loungers on the beach but they're not reserved exclusively for hotel guests. Other than the fact that it can get busy in the water the swimming conditions are good at the beach of Cala Ferrera.
Apart from pedal and paddle boats there are no water sports here and swimmers have free rein to do their laps or float comfortably on their lilos. A lifeguard ensures safety in the little bay. There are showers and public toilets too, however these are at the entrance to the beach, which is quite far away from the water. There is also a volleyball court, a small supermarket and, as well as the hotel restaurant, there is another restaurant that is frequented by the locals.
Many holidaymakers on the beach of Cala Ferrera are regulars and come back year after year. If you're looking for seclusion and peace then this is not the place for you. But if you like a relaxed, open atmosphere, short distances and lots of bathing fun then Cala Ferrera could be just what you're looking for.

Getting to beach from car park: easy. Parking: The parking possibilities at the Cala Ferrera are quite limited, because the parking lot directly at the bay offers only place for about 10 cars. Otherwise it is difficult to park on the road, because the settlement Cala d'Or is very popular with tourists and therefore especially full in the high season.

So when my friend said should we go away a few days for my birthday we said not somewhere expensive! So we booked here at Cala Ferrera! Stunning turquoise splattered sea. The room was basic but immaculately clean. We had breakfast every morning which was basic but lovely but we never stayed for evening meal because we were only there 4 nights and wanted to make the most of being out and about! The beach was stunning and a 2 minute walk away, with sun beds to hire for 7 euros each a day and with a lovely beach bar across the beach you were set for the day!
The staff were so friendly especially our cleaner and the dark haired gentleman in reception who was so lovely and helpful. We loved it so much we have booked again for May while we were there! Just got back. Absoulty excelent location had a great time with nice people , quite yet livley if you want that , food ok tbh i enjoyed it too much lol defo recomend even the next door hotel that was gutted and getting a full referb didnt stress us at all will be back x.

Had worse. Room was on side with sea view but we were never woken up by the dreaded bin wagon that other guests had complained about as we were on the other side of the hotel. It looked as if our room had recently been renovated, new bathroom with a lovely walk in shower with 2 heads, a rain forest and a normal shower head which was powerful and did not lose heat.
Plenty of sun beds and pool nice but was always cold but I put that down to it being shaded by hotel by mid afternoon. Hotel spotless, the staff do a great job keeping it clean and tidy. Maids in everyday and they really did keep room clean, had fresh towels everyday as well, even though on the info given out it says towels every two days. The outlook to this hotel is amazing the beach is on your doorstep about 50 yards away that you can reach from path at rear of hotel, there is also steps down from the opposite side that you can go directly into the sea and snorkel.
There was no entertainment at all while we were there, they were trying to replace the lad who had left in early August and there was nothing on in the evening so we went out every night.
The food was very much hit and miss but the chef done the best he could with the resources he had available, you could always find something to eat even if it just tided you over till you went out and had something more substantial. The square is also a good night out, plenty of restaurants and bars, especially if your into your cocktails loads of bars offering them, average price for a meal is about 20 euros and a spirit and mixer in bars is 6 euro.
